Call For Participation
This session invites field-based and theoretical research that highlights the importance of international collaboration and integrated solutions that focus on Climate change impacts and solutions in mountain watersheds. Topics may include but are not limited to studies that focus on: forest restoration, agriculture, precipitation patterns, glacial meltwater, hazards, water security, climate justice, socio-political aspects and communication campaigns.
Description:
Glaciated and snow-covered cordilleras are crucial sources of water for many mountain watersheds, such as the Andes, Himalaya, Alps, and American Rockies. As concerns about access to water and glacial hazards mount, scientific inquiry has expanded to address the intersection of environmental and social issues. Raising awareness about the justice implications of melting glaciers and the anxiety surrounding climate change. Research that blends physical geography with political ecology is increasingly essential for sustainable solutions. Hydroclimatic processes driven by steep mountain gradients drive both human and biophysical responses to climate disruption.
