Abstract
This project centers on capturing the multifaceted efforts of a climate research team using the powerful medium of videography and integrating it into a strategic communication campaign. I aim to create a compelling video project—one that not only amplifies the visibility of our initiative but also reaches beyond the scientific community to engage the wider public. This video project will be the visual, engaging component of a strategic communication campaign that focuses on justice for the melting glaciers and climate anxiety exploration. Through digital media and visual storytelling, I seek to demystify the intricate hydroclimatic processes unfolding across the Andes Mountains. I am part of an interdisciplinary team of six BSU students, lead by Prof. Rob Hellström, that will work collaboratively with a peer-team of six students from UNASAM to share methods and insights on the cascading impacts of elevation dependent climate change. Our lens will focus on understanding the nature, causes, and effects of these shifts, which occur over diverse scales. The implications of these changes for society—both locally and globally—will be a central theme. Our collaboration involves students from both the United States and Peru, engaging in innovative peer-to-peer research on elevation-dependent warmings.
