Abstract
Leaning on the metaphor of fluids this research explores sweat as a concept of solidarity within the space as well as between researcher and researched.
The location of the field site is a martial arts gym in contemporary Leicester, UK. To explore how and why solidarities are experienced (or not) between diverse racialized humans, this presentation explores
the challenges and opportunities of black methodology and slow spatial research, involving the
shaping of ethnographic methods whilst boxing with research participants. Its aim is to contribute to spatial approaches in researching everyday multiculturalism and conviviality.
