Description:
What does it look like to queer geography education? As we move towards more just geographies, we must address the lack of queer and LGBTQIA2SP+ experiences and representation in geography education. What challenges and opportunities do we face in queering geography education? How do we discuss the diversity of gender, sex, and sexuality as it intersects with our teaching practices, curriculum, and classroom communities? What resources exist to learn more about gender, sex, and sexuality, and support inclusive classrooms? We will examine all these questions and more in this panel session where we dream, discuss, and develop ways of queering our teaching and curriculum. Feel free to bring your favorite resources to contribute to our session’s queering curriculum crowdsourcing discussion!
