Description:
GIS has rapidly evolved into a cloud-based platform with the ability to collect, map, analyze, and communicate using the Software As A Service model, configurable apps, and data services. This platform is transforming how spatial thinking through GIS is taught throughout the education system. In this panel, a group of innovative educators in community colleges and universities shares their strategies for updating their courses and programs within a rapidly changing technological and educational environment. They discuss the challenges and benefits as they evolve their programs and the impact these changes have on student learning and faculty workload. The goal of this session is to share expertise and empower the audience to consider their own approaches and programs such that we can we can together build a shared, vibrant community of modern GIS practice.
