Description:
Climate change, accompanied by the increasingly stronger hurricanes, flooding, winter storm and extreme heat and their omnipresence across all continents, have brought the prosperity, development, and even the very survival of our human civilization under question. Despite efforts made on the governmental, corporate and societal fronts, climate change has continued posing challenges and threats to our environments and undermining the sustainable development efforts. The advancements of geospatial technologies have provided timely assistance to the endeavor in reining climate change and supporting sustainable development. The objective of this session is to provide a place where scholars can elaborate on the critical roles played by geospatial technology in fighting climate change and supporting sustainable development.
This session is part of the AAG Symposium on Geospatial Approaches to Pressing Grand Challenges: Global Pandemics, Climate Change, and Food Security.
