Description:
The uptick of both novel and reemerging diseases across the globe poses a serious threat to public health. Surveillance systems provide a crucial method of detecting and controlling outbreaks and are widely used by Health departments at various levels and jurisdictions. Developing such systems requires the collection and integration of disparate data at various levels of resolution and quality. Further, technological and digital innovations, such as machine learning, requires the development of methods for reconciling the spatial scale and resolution of various data layers including temperature, precipitation, vegetation, and land use. The papers in this session address these challenges.
