Description:
The dynamics of a multi-scale networked society are inextricably entangled with Natural and built environments, where the social sustainability and resilience are shaped by human-environment interactions. The advancement of computational and geospatial technologies enabled us to analyze and predict human causes of environmental changes and explore the means of improving human health through urban design and environmental management. This session aims to shed light on key concepts and methodologies important in understanding human-environment interactions. For instance, how do the advancements in mixed methods with a data-driven approach assist spatial decision-making in addressing environmental sustainability challenges? How can geospatial artificial intelligence and scalable computing be integrated to model and predict the dynamics of coupled human-natural systems? What ethical issues need to be addressed prior to human behavior modeling in geospatial data science? The topics are included but not limited to:
