Description:
Sustainable urban landscapes have received increased attention over the years, especially in the face of climate change exacerbating existing vulnerabilities in cities. Understanding the interactions between abiotic, biotic, and cultural components of urban landscapes are paramount to urban sustainability. Landscape ecology is uniquely positioned to study interactions in urban landscapes and identify sustainability solutions.
This session seeks to highlight the contributions and methodological innovations in the field of landscape ecology in addressing urban sustainability challenges. Ranging from specific case studies to theoretical-methodological approaches, we are interested in quantitative and qualitative research papers that use landscape ecology frameworks and methods in urban landscapes on topics related to urban sustainability.
