Description:
The dynamics of a multi-scale networked society are inextricably entangled with geographical and built environments, where human-environmental interactions shape the society's sustainability and resilience. The advancement of computational and geospatial technologies enables us to analyze and predict the human causes of environmental change and explore the possibilities to improve human health and well-being through urban design and environmental management. This session aims to shed light on key concepts and methodologies important in understanding human-environment interactions. For instance, how to advance mixed methods with a data-driven approach to better support spatial decision-making in addressing environmental sustainability challenges? How can geospatial artificial intelligence and scalable computing be integrated to model and predict the dynamics of coupled human-natural systems? What ethical issues relate to human behavior modeling in geospatial data science?
