Description:
Each species plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance of our ecosystems. Modernization, urbanization, and governance structures have altered species conservation priorities, often conflicting with local livelihood realities. Spatial modeling, mapping, and conservation efforts work together to understand wildlife habitats and address social and political factors that influence policies and communities. This session will explore how modeling, and socio-political frameworks can collectively enhance species conservation efforts.
This session will focus on, understanding the effects of habitat fragmentation, use of remote sensing and modeling techniques to improve detection and examining the socio-political narratives and governance frameworks influencing conservation strategies.
