Abstract
The research sample was 11,970 A-grade scenic spots in China. . Using ArcGIS 10.5 software, we analyzed the connection tightness, complexity, and spatial fractal characteristics of their spatial distribution, and used spatial point data and tourism yearbook economic data to quantify their spatial characterization. Based on the above research foundation, with reference to previous research results, the types of A-grade scenic spots were classified, with analysis of their regional proportion characteristics. Combining the influencing factors of A-grade scenic spots, we selected natural, economic and social factors for interpretation, and put forward solutions and methods. We found that China’s A-grade scenic spots have agglomeration characteristics in the spatial distribution. The nuclear density center presents a spatial pattern of “multicore center, subnucleus surrounding, and echelon decreasing.” The fractal of the spatial structure is complex, the regional difference is significant, and there is a significant scale-free interval. The types of tourist destinations and products show obvious regional differences. There are many scenic spots in South China and East China, which have good natural and economic conditions and convenient transportation. A-grade scenic spots surround Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and other provinces in East China, and the scenic spots are densely distributed. Studying the spatial distribution characteristics of China’s A-grade scenic spots is helpful to analyze the complexity of the layout and spatial connections of scenic spots, and can play a reference and decision-making role in China’s tourism development and Rural Revitalization Strategy.
