Abstract
The Global LAnd Surface Satellite (GLASS) product suite currently comprises around 20 products that characterize the global land surface radiation budget, ecosystem structure and functions, water cycle, and cryosphere. Examples of these products include leaf area index, forest above-ground biomass, gross primary productivity, broadband albedo, longwave and shortwave radiation, all-sky land surface temperature, near-surface air temperature, net radiation, snow cover, soil moisture, and evapotranspiration (ET). These products are primarily generated from AVHRR (from 1981-present) and MODIS (from 2000-present) data, with spatial resolutions ranging from 250m to 5km. The GLASS product suite possesses several unique features, such as spatially seamless coverage, long time-series, and high accuracy. These products are freely available and have been widely used. The project to develop the GLASS products was initiated a decade ago, and this presentation will introduce the latest advancements in these products and their applications.
