Abstract
Wetlands provide numerous ecosystem services at multiple and nested socio-ecological scales, including provisioning, regulating, cultural and supporting services. Yet wetlands are often viewed in the public imagination as spatially confined to the local as a local amenity. The perception of wetlands as local hinders their support from the public, including their protection, access and development, by public and private actors in the broader watershed in which they are located. This poster presents our public outreach efforts of working with Millbrook Marsh in State College, PA to enable the public to visualize the wetland as nested within the Spring Creek, Susquehanna and Chesapeake Watersheds.
