Abstract
In 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic indefinitely postponed gatherings. To offer online learning, primary schools stripped their curriculum to the essentials, often neglecting geography, spatial analysis and community building. As a GIScientist, and a parent impacted by a shift to online learning, I developed a series of free/open-source, printable resources for teaching spatial reasoning, mapping, and community-based data analysis. This included a variety of printable spatial-analytic games as well as a hyper-local colouring book that doubly serves as walking papers or printable maps for documenting local conditions anywhere in the world. This talk will share these materials while addressing their use for developing community-based spatial analytic skills.
