Abstract
The international scheme for wildlife conservation seeks the inclusion of Local Knowledge (LK) for understanding about human being and landscape relationship. We analyze research topics from LK perspective towards the use of wildlife and landscape. Three aspects were analyzed: 1) approach disciplines, 2) place of origin of researchers and places of case study, 3) landscapes of investigation, 4) challenges. A review was carried out in databases EBSCOhost, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Scielo, Google Scholar and particularly in Ethnobiology Journal. The search included the keywords in english "local knowledge", "traditional knowledge", "wildlife", "landscape", "land management", "elements of the social landscape", "biocultural", "ethnozoology", and keywords in spanish “conocimiento local”, “conocimiento tradicional”, “fauna silvestre”, “paisaje”, “manejo del territorio”, “elementos culturales del paisaje”, “biocultural”, “etnozoología". Booleans and / y were used and the search was limited between the years 2000 and 2020. The analysis of 212 articles with Atlas.ti software suggested that Biological Sciences (24.3%), Ecology (10.7%), Ethnociences (10.7%), Anthropology (9.3%) and Geography (9.3%) are the disciplines with the closest approach. Researchers from America and Europe (Global North) conduct research in Latin America and Africa (Global South), at temperate and tropical forest landscapes, in the main. Finally, a Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) identified economic, political, social and academic challenges.
