Abstract
The Electric Foundation Energy Data are the first ever government owned geospatial data of electric power created from open sources. This dataset contains every electric infrastructure like substations, transmission lines, and power plants mapped for the entire US. These datasets are updated annually using a variety of geospatial and machine learning techniques. In this talk we will discuss the process of creating these geospatial datasets, challenges associated with them and their application in emergency response, resource planning and modelling and simulation studies.
