Abstract
Geography appears to be underrepresented in the K-12 system in the United States. This poster focuses on the embellishment of geography in the K-12 system through community outreach, citizen science, and Geographic Information Systems technology (GIS) while addressing associated positives, challenges, and geographic components within national Science, Engineering, Technology, and Math (STEM) standards. There are various ways to expand K-12 geography education through the implementation of geographic technologies and citizen science in the classroom and identifying geographic components within the STEM curriculum.
