Abstract
Climate change’s impact on agriculture across the planet is overwhelming, with highly harmful
potentials for the global food supply over time. Much of the research assessing climate change
and agriculture focuses on crop yield. But what does crop yield mean to the average person?
How much food is that? To assist people in visualizing the changes in food production relating
to climate change, this research focuses on corn-based food production specifically. The study
area of this research is Iowa. Using temperature and precipitation data as
primary climate determinants, along with influential human variables, this geospatial work
investigates the relationship between climate change and food products produced with corn. As
this study is ongoing; results and conclusions will be shared when it concludes.
