Description:
This session will include research from all aspects of the sub-discipline of rural geography, including topics that are not unique to a rural environment. It will cover the full spectrum of geography and welcomes human, physical, and technical topics in a variety of perspectives. We are especially interested in those that highlight voices and topics that are not often heard in the rural research literature, including those with critical perspectives on race, ethnicity, indigeneity, gender, sexuality, immigration status, language, and other issues as well as regions in the Global South. We encourage presenters to consider a wider definition of rural than issues that are unique to rural environments.
