Abstract
According to 2015 UN global estimates, 1 in 3 women experiences (direct) physical or sexual violence during her lifetime. In lower-income countries, women exposure to direct, structural and cultural violence is much larger, even more so since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Engaging with literature on feminist urban geography, and based on interviews with women from Cochabamba, Delhi, Georgetown, Ibadan and Shanghai -conducted by GenUrb City Research Teams-, this research studies place ecologies of violence against women in emerging cities.
