This session brings together a number of papers addressing current issues in the geographies of tourism and recreation and is sponsored by the Recreation, Tourism, and Sport Specialty Group.
Topics covered include:

- watershed management in a rapidly growing tourist area
- rural women's agency in community-based tourism
- discourses on the environmental aspects of space travel
This eclectic session includes cases from the United States of America, Spain, Uganda, and, of course, space! Themes which cut across all presentations include sustainable development, equity, and justice.
