Description:
This session looks to create a space for food systems scholars to engage in facilitated dialogue around the topic of unjust food geographies. As the global pandemic laid bare, functioning food systems are critical for community health and well-being but most communities were ill-equipped to manage deficits in the food system (Raj et al. 2022; Raja 2022). The war in Ukraine exacerbates grain supply chain issues, creating further disparities in nourishment. This session hopes to provide a direction for future research and engagement especially as more frequent disruptions in the food system are expected with climate change.
