Abstract
The author argues that space in which the authorities, institutions and residents of two or more neighbouring countries cooperates can be designated as the cross-border space. If their cooperation covers topics regarding tourism, we may consider this cooperation space as a cross-border tourism space. But what if their collaboration crosses national sea borders? Can we discuss cross-sea-border tourism space then?
On the example of the Baltic Sea Region in Europe, where tourism-based cooperation of various entities across the sea has been researched in-depth, the author presents the possibilities and obstacles of cross-border tourism space creation.
The paper is the result of implementing the research project No. 2017/27/N/HS4/02773 financed by the National Science Center, Poland.
