Abstract
Migrant small business owners have long been heralded as key players in local economic development. Increasingly however, these businesses are also being recognized for their social, political, and urban impact. I examine a woman-owned Brazilian restaurant in Colorado, to interrogate the social impact of entrepreneurship. I demonstrate how decisions about the aesthetics and practices of a small-business can cultivate a sense of belonging for clientele.
